Dental Restoration

A damaged tooth can be fully restored in both form and function with the assistance of a properly performed tooth restoration procedure. Dental restorations can involve the placement of fillings, dental crowns, dental bridges or dental implants, all of which can reinstate your damaged or missing tooth to its complete functionality and aesthetic appearance.

For teeth that have become damaged by cavities or have suffered nerve damage to the root and undergone root canal therapy, fillings and dental crowns are used to fully cover and fill in the damaged areas. By sealing the damaged spot with composite fillings or covering the entire tooth with a porcelain dental crown, your tooth is thereby protected from further damage and strengthened in its ability to perform its proper chewing function. And with the advancements made in recent years in dental science, the restorative materials used to perform the restorations are now incredibly natural looking and will blend in discreetly with your natural tooth color.

Dental Bridges are another dental restoration procedure that can fill in the gap caused by a missing tooth by supporting a prosthetic tooth with its abutting teeth. The supporting structure of a bridge can be temporarily attached or permanently bonded with dental cement, according to your specific needs. Then the prosthetic (false tooth) tooth is able to sit firmly in place, achieving a natural appearance and restoring your ability to chew your food properly.

Dental implants restore a tooth permanently in a procedure that requires oral surgery in order to permanently attach the tooth support to the underlying bone structure. Usually a titanium post is surgically implanted, then subsequently covered fully by a porcelain dental crown that is nearly identical in appearance to a natural tooth.

Dental restorations are procedures that give you back the full form and function of a beautiful smile!
